When Jim Harbaugh took a pay cut from Michigan after the 2020 season, getting another chance to be an NFL head coach seemed like a long shot for him. He leaves Michigan after three straight seasons of beating Ohio State, winning the Big Ten and reaching the playoff. Harbaugh has been a head coach in college and the NFL for 20 years, including a three-year stint with FCS San Diego before landing the Stanford job in 2007. “I knew this was a thing that, not that I had to do, but that I really wanted to do.

Three years ago, Erin Mullen arrived at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst exhausted by the pandemic and without any appetite for political demonstrations. Last month she sat in a holding cell in an Amherst jail with her hands cuffed behind her back, one of 57 students arrested while protesting the conflict in Gaza. Mullen is white, her parents were raised Catholic and she grew up in an upper middle class Boston suburb. Her political awakening—along with those of tens of thousands of her generation now enrolled at college—is fueling a surge of campus unrest not seen since the Vietnam War.

A lawsuit filed Monday by an Islamic civil rights group on behalf of Khairullah and other plaintiffs says his exclusion from the White House event demonstrates that Muslims face negative repercussions even after they are able to clear their name from the list. The Secret Service declined to comment on the lawsuit. The FBI's Terrorist Screening Center plays a primary role in the watchlist, though many government agencies are involved in the secretive process. CAIR contends that its lawsuits have uncovered the breadth of government agencies that use the list, from local law enforcement to the State Department to the Secret Service. That's because in most cases, the government refuses to tell people if they've been placed on the list or if they've been removed.

Actor Paul Reubens arrives as a guest for Comedy Central television's South Park The Tenth Season party in Los Angeles September 21, 2006. Actor Paul Reubens, who came to fame in the 1980s as children's TV star Pee-wee Herman, has died years after a cancer diagnosis, his team said Monday. Reubens rocketed to fame for creating the sarcastic but good-natured man-child Pee-wee Herman, a character whose red bowtie and sneering catch phrases — "I know you are, but what am I?" That eventually led to Reubens' big break, the 1985 movie "Pee-wee's Big Adventure," helmed by first-time feature film director Tim Burton. The success of "Pee-wee's Big Adventure" led to Reubens landing a Saturday morning CBS show, "Pee-wee's Playhouse."

For a long while, reparations for Black Americans has been more a debate topic than a reality. I know that various groups of Americans have been granted reparations in the past, such as the descendants of Japanese Americans placed in internment camps during World War II. And I certainly believe that Black Americans have deserved reparations. It’s more that I have questioned the idea of what I would regard as new reparations. Affirmative action can be seen as an enormous reparations policy, although the term is rarely used in that context.

Wall Street landlords raised $110 billion to buy homes but have had a quiet year. One large transaction, and one large listing, could signal that investors are ready to start buying. The single-family rental market, a popular playground of Wall Street landlords in 2020 and 2021, has been in a deep-freeze for the last year. Rising borrowing costs and a shakier housing market halted most transactions, leaving idle much of the $110 billion raised to buy homes. The company, which was valued at nearly $2 billion last year, says it has facilitated more than $5 billion in deals.

CNBC's Jim Cramer on Friday explained why Domino's Pizza stock soared this week, going from $298 to $331, with a 6.5% gain on Thursday alone. Domino's has been struggling with a post-Covid hangover, Cramer said, plummeting last month to its lowest levels since the pandemic, where its delivery services became a popular option for those stuck at home. But besides the general hype about restaurant chains after Cava's successful initial public offering, Cramer thinks Domino's performed so well in part due to bullish reports released this week from analysts at Piper Sandler and Stifel. The analyst at Stifel, Chris O'Cull, upgraded Domino's from hold to buy, arguing the company will "will stabilize delivery sales and continue growing carryout sales to new record levels." "While the next earnings report likely won't be anything special—in other words, don't buy it for the next quarter—after these two terrific notes, I'm feeling like Domino's stock must be bottoming, right?"
